Severe Chest Pain, What could it be?I had a c-section on July 23, 2008 I don't know if that has anything to do with this but all throughout my pregnancy I had very bad heartburn, so the doctor had me on Famotidine (Pepcid). Ever since my son was born I have had no heartburn whatsoever. No burning in my chest not anything at all. But for the past week I have had these really bad chest pain episodes. Usually happens a little while after I eat. But the thing is I haven't ate any spicy food or anything. The only way I find to relieve this chest pain is to throw up. That's the only thing that makes me feel better. Doctors at the ER keep saying it's GERD, but the thing is that if it was that then why wouldn't it be relieved when I took some heartburn medicine for it? I remember when this happened last Friday I took a Tums and it didn't help at all. And like I say I don't feel any heartburn at all, so I don't think it's because of the heartburn. I just can't keep having these episodes, they are horrible to go through and my little boy needs me and I need to be with him, I can't keep going through this, the pain gets so bad when I have these episodes. Someone please help.

You just had a baby, hmmm are you moving around a lot? Because it could be a delayed reaction! You had a C-section so maybe its your body not cooperating, All though the doctors say you have GERD, I think its something worse maybe an infection I think you should go to the E.R. right now.

go back and see your doctor right away and tell him that tums are not working and you want him to check for anything else. if he refuses or keeps saying that is all it is then you need to go and see a different doctor so that you can have a second opinion.
