How get rid of GERD, The throat part, is what i'm feeling normal?

These are useful and collceted by GERD!

How get rid of GERD, The throat part, is what i'm feeling normal?I was diagnosed with GERD about a month ago. I have lost some weight, stopped smoking, stopped drinking soda. Eating for the most part properly. I haven't had a stomach ache in over 3 weeks. I take prilocec twice a day. My bed is lifted. But my throat is still constantly bothering me. It's driving me insane. Is what I'm feeling normal? Is there something I'm doing wrong? Any secrets for curing the throat thing.

This is a very annoying ailment to have. If you are doing everything possible and your throat still hurts, it means that acid is still backing up and burning it. You probably need another type of medication such as Nexium. Be sure to take it immediately before going to sleep at night which is when it seems to work best.

Ask your doctor if you need to get and endoscopy to see what's going on in your stomach. People who have GERD often have a hiatal hernia. In some cases, surgery is needed to correct the problem. In the meantime, eat yogurt which has a cooling effect. Papaya is also a good fruit for stomach problems.

It sounds like you have made all the improvements you can, and you're still having problems. I'd say it's time to visit the doctor, and get a script for Prevacid or a similar medication. It works MUCH better than Prilosec, in my experience. It IS a prescription medication, at least for now, and it's expensive, but it's not nearly as bad as dealing with GERD. You might also ask about a prescription for Reglan; it helps the stomach empty faster, so that there's simply not as much there to come back up.

Good luck!
