Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

It effects the stomach and esophagus. Cause is acid, food regurgitation from stomach back up into esophagus causing pain, burning, fullness. Treatment 6 small meals daily vs. 3 regular or large meals, don't lay down after eating, avoid irritants caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, spicy foods, greasy, fatty foods, citrus. Sleep with 2-3 pillows to keep head higher than stomach. Use of H2antagonist like Pepcid, Zantac, Tagamet, Prevecid etc..
