What kinds of foods should i eat to avoid GERD symptoms.. I know what I need to avoid (coffee chocalate etc...?) but Im not sure what foods are known for NOT causing GERD. Im only eating popcorn at the moment. And Im not a chef or anything lol.. so im not looking recipes, i just want to know what i can buy at a regular grocery store which is safe for GERD. are carrots good? Carrots are probably ok. Generally you need to avoid alcohol, spicy foods, caffeine, citrus fruits, tomatoes, garlic, onions, peppermint, and greasy foods. So what you need to concentrate on is a very healthy diet and bland foods for a while. Then gradually try other foods and see if you tolerate them well. You might want to start with foods such as bananas, oatmeal, other cereals, chicken, rice, soups, and fish. Check here for more help.
