My sons stool smells like acid. What do you think could be wrong with him? If it isn't GERD what else?I took him to the doctor and he said my son has GERD but we didn't do any test. He arches his back and gets up a lot during the night. He cries like he is in pain. I nurse and feed him solids. His poop smells like acid. I am so helpless I don't know how to make him feel better, the medicine isn't working.

Sounds like it possibly could be Celiac disease. There is a simple blood test that can detect this condition. If your current Doctor is not helping or not seeming to help your son ask to be sent to a pediatric gastro docor.
