Has anyone ever taken a corticosteroid like flonase and not seen results?

These are useful and collceted by GERD!

Has anyone ever taken a corticosteroid like flonase and not seen results? So I'm taking a corticosteroid and what it is supposed to do is reduce the inflammation response in the body. Plain and simple really. The problem is that it isn't working! I have had a sore throat (no other symptoms) for about a year. If this medication isn't working does this mean that I possibly have GERD instead of inflammatory allergies? Anyone else ever have a sore throat that didn't respond to any kind allergy meds?

flonase is an intranasal steroid and so it is not supposed to have an effect anywhere else in your body. i am assuming you were given the flonase because your doctor thought your sore throat was from postnasal drainage. if you have used it faithfully for a month and aren't any better, by all means tell your doctor and I feel certain they will investigate other possible causes. including GERD.

Helpful answer below. GERD — Comprehensive overview covers symptoms, treatment, diet issues of this acid reflux disease.
