Belly Button Pain from Acid Reflux?

GERD edited the following:

Belly Button Pain from Acid Reflux?I'm a 24/f, and was diagnosed with GERD (acid reflux) 8 years ago, I was on Prevacid for awhile. And the problem seemed to go away. However I was at the doctors today (due to stomach pain & indigestion) and he put me on Prolosec for GERD. (This is a different dr, I've moved out of state since) My question is. Can acid reflux (gerd) cause pain at the belly button? I'm having a constant sometimes sharp pangs around my navel. I've been a bit anxious lately (getting married this week!) and the doc said that the fist/full type feeling right below my ribcage was from GERD, but he never really said anything about the belly button pain. Any thoughts on this? A pulled muscle? He said to come back for a GI if I wasn't feeling better in 2 weeks. Just wanted to see what others thought about this, any similar feelings?

Thanks! :)
I've been having the umbelical pain for a few days now. It's like a sharp stretched out too far thing behind my belly button. He said my appendix felt fine. I have the normal, "bride wanting things to go right" jitters I'd say :)

Generally speaking, pain in the periumbilical region arises from viscera of the midgut (small intestine, appendix, ascending colon, proximal two thirds of the transverse colon). Were you having the periumbilical pain at or before the time of your visit? Could it be premarital jitters? Or simple, common, unromantic gas?

Very doubtful. Gerd causes pain in the esophagus. Sometimes you can have referred pain, but that usually occurs in the neck and shoulders. I've never heard of periumbilical pain being caused by GERD.
