Apple cider vinegar and Gerd?Is apple cider vinegar any good for Gerd/Acid reflux?
I've seen conflicting views, some saying it has no effect on it.
Anyone out there tried it and did it help?
Also, is it drinkable? Or does it have to be used on food?
Thanks in advance
Thanks for your answer KC. My doc just said to avoid citric fruits/fatty foods etc and not to eat anything two hours before bed. It was just that a friend said apple cider vinegar was good for it,but I couldn't see how any vinegar would be good for my symptoms

I learned I have GERD condition early last year and I remember the doctor not saying anything about food/drinks which are good for me. Instead, the doctor advised me to avoid intake of some food/drinks which can worsen my condition (I was already having chest pain and nauseating every morning before I consulted a doctor and found out about my condition).
I was told not to intake acidic food/drinks (including fruits and Vitamin C supplements) for two months to heal first my esophagus. My eating and sleeping habits were also changed. I have to eat 6/8 times a day instead of 3 but my usual food intake has to be cut in half/third to help me digest better. Oily, salty and spicy food was no-no for me also during that time. I can only sleep at least 2 hours after my last meal/drink (including water) to avoid reflux.
ItÅ› better to ask your doctor to see how your condition is and if apple cider really helps.
