Hi Sophia, I should imagine it would neutralise any acid content as there would be quite a bit of sugars in the fruit syrup. If there were no sugars, the acid however weak would, given time eat through the can. I hope this helps. All the best. Rab

I partly agree with Rab as the sugars would neutralize the natural fruit acids but also the "hot water bath" or cooking fruit would also rid the acids.
