Bad nausea after eating?I'm emetophobic, and I lately have had a lot of paranoia about vomiting and have had a lot of trouble even getting myself to eat anything because I fear I will throw it up. I've lost 20 pounds in the last two months, and that's not good because I was already thin as a rail. Anyway, I've had a lot of trouble telling between nausea and hunger, and I only eat when I feel a gnawing hunger, that is the only sure way to tell. Yet, immediately after I eat, I feel a horrible nausea and it doesn't subside until about six hours later when my stomach has emptied. It feels like I may vomit, and of course I panic, and I end up eating a lot less in a day than I used to. Any help?

An inability to differentiate between nausea and other bodily functions (like heartburn, indigestion, gas, hunger, etc) is very common amongst emetophobes. You have such anxiety over the possibility of becoming nauseas, that your brain tricks yourself into thinking every little thing is the begining of nausea.
It is very important for you to eat, just eat in a very healthy way. You should have no problem with salads, toast, cereal, vegetables, and fruits. If you are like many emetophobes and stay away from the meat, make sure you are getting some source of protein, such as nuts or peanut butter.
My final reccomendation would be to go to your doctor, discussing both your phobia, and your diet.
