These are useful and collceted by GERD!

weird blood sugar spike?ok, so i just went on a very short bike ride and it couldn't have lasted more than 10 minutes, probably less, but when i got home my head was pounding and i took my blood sugar and it was at 165, this is very unusual for me my blood sugar is usually between 75-90. i got really freaked. also i started taking some hair, nail, and skin vitamins and i recently decided to go on the pescetarian(eat no meat except fish and i can have all the fruits and veggie, milk, and eggs) diet, ive been on this for about 3days. also its been winter and i haven't ridden my bike in a long time, actually i haven't done much exercise. pls help

Stats:
female
height-6ft
weight-214(i've lost 26lbs,use to be 240)
age-15

if this helps ill give you a list of the medicine i take:

-glucophage(metformin 850mg):diabetes
-Allegra:allergy/sinus
-prevacid-Gerd
-symbicort-asthma
Vitamin: hair, nails, and skin by sundown naturals

P.s: because of my diet i haven't really had any sugar at all.

Plz this has really scared me, I don't want anymore illnesses

I think maybe it was just the adrenaline because then like 10 minutes later it went from 165-100, literally

Unless you have this happening all the time, I would not worry to much, sounds like your getting yourself all wound up and that is not good. Congrats on the weight loss! Keep going! I know I got diagnosed with diabetes a year ago and have lost 60 pounds. A spike once in awhile shouldn't be of that great concern, but if it bothers you alot, have a talk with your doctor. He can always do a few tests and your A1c thing. Keep going with the weight loss and eating well.

Ive had diabetes for twenty years and ive noticed that when i exercise my blood sugar goes higher. I was told that when your exercising your body releases sugar into your body to give you energy and thats what could be happening. Next time you go to visit your doctor ask them.

Most likely two things are raising the blood sugars. If the excercise is intense the body will dump sugar into your system from you liver. Second if you dont eat the body has nothing to feed from so again it dumps sugar into the system. It has to get energy from some place so the liver takes care of it. You need to readjust your eating something before you start exercising or your meds. Continue exercising I'm sure your levels will stabilize if you eat some carbs before exercising or inform your doctor this is happening and get your meds adjusted.

Check with your doctor if this continues after exercising but I feel with eating some carb before or uipping your meds to offset your spikes you will be able to exercise with levels stabilized.

Hope this helps.
