I think I have a ulcer! What do you think?

Hi,I did the following:

I think I have a ulcer! What do you think?Ok so I have had issues with my GI tract for years. It started in 2000 when I got what seemed to be food poison then 5 days later I got the same symtems but with positive blood in bowel and vomit. I was admited overnight and next day released and was given phenergan to help with nausia. Then had a barium test done the following week and they said I had GERD but I never felt any heart burn or indigestion.

Then a year later in 2001-02 I had IBS but was to embarrased to seek medical attention so Imodim was my best friend in that time frame.

In 2004 & 2006 I got pregnant and had some heart burn but not until late in my pregnancy with both kids, but I did have hyper mesis with both kids. (I threw up all day for 6-7 months with both kids)

Then in 2007 I got what seemed to be the flu 2 times in 1 1/2 months. Only 1 of those times did anyone in my family get it also. So I think it began then.
But in 2008 I noticed I was having to start to take alka seltzer about 2-3 times a month. But since 2009 started I have been waking up more often with a tummy ache. Sometimes it is not so bad, but other days I hurt more and take a alka seltzer and it helps with the pain. Other times it doesnt and causes me to vomit which helps with the pain as well.
I will wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning and toss and turn until 7 then finally get up and take alka seltzer and lay back down about 85% of the time it helps. TUMS has never worked for me ever.
Well in the past 2 months I have woken up every morning with this pain and it seems to last longer in the day. It used to go away after about 9 in the morning but I have noticed it stay up until noon or later.
well today I finally broke down to see a doctor and he is getting a referral to a gastro doctor but he also ran some tests as well
He took blood to test for some stuff
He also wants a stool sample

So do you think he think I may have a ulcer but wont say anything to me and he wants me to wait to see a gastro doc.
he put me on prilosec 20 mg twice a day

Sure sounds like GERD. Prilosec 20 is a low dose, even 2x daily.
