GERD and fibromyalgia? Is there a connection between the 2? I suffer from IBS as well, that I know is related to fibro. What is a good natural remedy for GERD or OTC product, cause I have to take Propain Forte and DF 118, but the ibuprofen I cut out totally, because I think it is the root of it.

I recommend both Dannon's Dan Active for Immunity & Digestive Advantage for Irritable bowel syndrome. Both are available without a prescribtion & have no known reactions to any medications taken.
Not to mention, their cheaper than most prescriptions & I have had great results.
I suffer from both your diseases. And yes, most people with Fibro have this condintion, though the med's taken cause the stomach condition.

Ibuprofen may contribute to the IBS and GERD problem. Here is an article about GERD:

I have fibro and IBS, but not GERD. I have migraine much of the time. I go for acupuncture. It has helped some.
Have you ever tried MSM?
Look up fibromyalgia on www.lef.org. They have a good protocol. I have been trying it for about 4-6 weeks now. It is up and down but I have some really good days when I can get a lot done and not get sore afterward. L-Glutamine

I don't think there is a connection. But there is a connection between GERD and drinking carbonated beverages.

I found that both my GERD and IBS were related to eating wheat. Lots of people never consider that connection. Wheat(or gluten) sensitivity can also cause what appears to be lactose intolerance. The wheat problem allows the milk protein to stimulate the immune system into apparent allergic response to milk products.
Fibromyalgia is a very complicated disorder. There are so many things that it causes problems with. Be patient and keep a diary of everything you consume, experience and inhale daily. Eventually you will see patterns. Keep reading, the more you read the more you will understand.
