You need to conquer your fear in your own ways, or take therapy if you haven't.
When you lose your breath you need to take a break, take deep breaths, and possibly drink some water if you can.
Avoid caffeine because that spikes your anxiety. So not a lot of chocolate, and decaffeinated coffee if you drink coffee.
There are ways to avoid being put on "the" pill. You just need to find out what calms you down.
Just stay strong and let yourself know that you're okay.
