What medication seems to work the best for infant reflux/GERD in 4 month old baby?4 m old son has reflux, been on zantac since 2 w old and doesn't work, thinking about trying prevacid...

My daughter taking zantac, she has had no crying spells since starting on it and eats and sleeps better. It's not perfect, so i hope don't run into the problem of it not working at all anymore!
sorry i can't help you more.

zantac did not work for mine either. prevacid works great for us tho., and tasted so much better!
my gi specialist had us put cereal in the bottle, to thinken it up. the thicker formula makes it harder for them to reflux.
ETA--i was afraid he was going to balloon up in weight, but he didn't and the combination of the 2 made him a whole new kid.
they also said to keep him upright for a good amount of time after, or at least in a bouncy seat, or whatever, just not laying flat.
ETA x 2---we used the dr. brown's bottles too, those are awesome AWESOME bottles for reflux babies, a tad more expensive, but they really work great.

have you tried adding a little cereal in his bottle at night??? my son had reflux really bad and thats what childrens hospital ahd me do along with zantac 2 x's a day. i was adding 2 tablespoons for 6 oz of formula. i used avent botttles and they make a special nipple for thicker liquids. alos make sure your keeping in an upright position for 30 mins after each feeding. If hes 4 months old you can start spooning him some cereal also and this might help
