Panic attack or heart attack?

GERD edited the following:

Panic attack or heart attack? For the last year I've been having a stabby attack to the left of my chest for a year, which usually includes shortness of breath, tight chest, and dizziness. An initial ER visit and cardiogram and enzyme test showed no signs of heart attack. I have been told by doctors it is a panic attack, GERD, costochondritis, and chronic stiff neck muscles. I'm trying to get an appointment for a stress test set up with my current doctor.

The stabby feeling comes and goes periodically, usually with stress or temp change. Today, I was stressing out over a coworker and after I was done venting, I had that stabbing feeling, lasted about 2 hours and included stiff neck muscles, a sore feeling in my right leg, an insane heart beat, and a dizzy spell. After it passed, I became very tired and my neck muscles went to jelly.

Any suggestions, ideas, or input would help very much

You might be a smoking too much, I am not sure, infuriating is root of evil to excite any cardiac condition. Take good night sleep, and lead a healthy life style. It happens with me, when my subordinates, don't do the job accordingly. Try to avoid direct conflicting, and be tactful, as your health and life is more important. You know life is not one straight line.

Next time you get the pain call 911 for an ambulance and get to the er. Don't worry that in the past the tests have shown no signs of a heart attack. It could be a panic attack like they say or it could be angina or something else.

Have you seen a Cardiologist about this? if not tell your doctor you want to see one asap just to be safe. Cause obviously this is causing you stress worrying about it and what to do which doesn't help it either.

My Cardiologist has told me that when ever i get the pain in my chest and other symptoms like nausea, dizziness, tiredness etc, to call 911 and go in by ambulance even though the past 5 times the tests all came back showing no signs of a heart attack. we think this is because I have a congenital heart defect that can cause this in me but are still running tests. For you I really do recommend calling 911 next time and talking to your doctor and cardiologist until you figure out what is going on.

hope this helps a bit.

I've had panic attacks for years, always wondered how I would know if it was a heart attack because the symptoms are so alike.
Well, now I know, the heart attack doesn't let up eventually, like a panic attack does. You are chilled but sweating and breathing becomes very difficult. When the ambulance arrived I was leaning to the right because of the pain on the right side of my chest.
My right coronary artery was plugged. It is always safer to call 911, I actually rode this 'panic attack' out for 2 days before calling 911. Spent 3 days in the hospital for it too. Be safe not sorry.
