Looking for advice for gaining weight?I'm a 5'10 135lbs male (very thin) that actually lost 15 lbs in the last 2 months for an unknown reason (yes I've went to the doc, he thinks it's GERD), so I'm down to around 120 which is way too low. Currently I'm eating around 4-5k calories and about 130g of protein while having very healthy diet each day. I also exercise regularly with resistance bands and the normal push ups, pull ups, ect.
So my question is if I'm already eating that amount of calories while exercising to help maintain my muscle... how the hell do I gain weight? How many calories & protein should I be eating each day so I could be able to reach maybe 140 or 150 lbs? And because of health reasons I'm trying to avoid using heavy weights.
@Perplexed Person, I wasn't asking to be diagnosed, I had a question about gaining weight which my doctor is not a dietitian. He believes GERD is what caused my weight loss, which now I'm asking how do I put it back on.

If your doctor diagnosed you with GERD, then why would you turn to YAHOOAnswers for an answer? If I were you, I would go back to your doctor and ask which plan works best.
-Here's your change
If you're lifting weights as well, why not use a product called Muscle Milk?
It not only provides you with the right proteins and vitamins, it also contains a higher percentage of calories for your heavy work outs.

The only way to get bigger is by eating more calories than you burn. I assume you want to put on lean muscle mass and not fat but if you are trying to put on weight you will inevitably also put on some fat. You can't increase your muscle size and strength by avoiding heavy weight i'm afraid as they are they key to muscle hypertrophy. You need to tear and breakdown your muscle fibers in order for them to grow bigger and adapt to the stress. Light weight will only have minimal effect.
Good luck!
