Is walking good or bad if you feel sick from gallstones?I am a bit nauseous from my gallstones right now, and I realized that sometimes I feel better from walking, but keep in mind, I also have acid reflux (GERD) and maybe walking helped that and not my gallbladder attack.
Do any of you who have had gallstones in the past think that walking helps relieve the nausea, or should I try to sit still?
Is there anything else that may help relieve the symptoms?
Thanks.
Btw, I'm having my gallbladder surgically removed in a few weeks :)

Personally, if I have a gallbladder attack, walking does not relieve it. However, if you feel it helps you, by all means - I'd do it! During my last gallbladder attack, which lasted a few days, my doctor prescribed the generic form of Prilosec (now available over-the-counter) to be taken twice each day before meals. This relieved discomfort considerably.

Yes, there is something very important that you can do to prevent the symptoms and that is to avoid high fat meals. Most gallbladder attacks occur about an hour after a high fat meal when the gallbladder tries to squeeze out its bile into the intestine to help digest the fat. Walking may help but only because it helps pass time as the food passes through and the gallbladder stop squeezing.
