Its not IBS...could it be colon cancer? GERD? Parasite?For the past 2 years I have been on medication for severe lower abdominal pain, cramping, gas...list goes on. The pain arrived when i came home from a vacation in Mexico. I have been waiting for 8 months to get in to see the specialist for my colonoscope. I go in monday afternoon for the procedure. When i went in for my consultation, he ruled out IBS, but did not give me any information on what else it could be. Ive been on egde for the past few months and getting closer to the procedure im stressing out big time. The pain is so severe that it pretty much paralyses me. Cant move off the toilet and a bm doesn't help at all. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

My gramms was just imitted into the hospital yesterday for pains and they think it might be collen cancer.. pls tell me if you find out anything about it.. etc

Have you had stool cultures done yet to rule out parasite?
Do you smoke?
History of cancer in family?
are you obese and eat a poor low fiber diet?
these three put you at increased risk of colon cancer
have you seen blodd in your stool?
I would just relax wait have the colonoscopy and see what it reveals
there are many digestive things you could have
diverticulitis?
colitis?
the list goes on so don't assume it is cancer
